Going Gluten-Free!

An educational workshop for individuals & families diagnosed with gluten-intolerance or celiac disease

Continually or intermittently ingesting gluten results in a greater risk for development of:

Celiac Disease

Celiac disease presents itself differently in everyone. Sometimes the signs are less than obvious.

Current research from the University of Maryland reveals that 1 in 133 people has Celiac disease. For every 1 person that is diagnosed, 53 go undiagnosed.

In Europe: People are commonly tested for Celiac beginning at age six. Anyone with fertility problems is automatically tested for Celiac. The average time between onset of symptoms and diagnosis of Celiac disease is 3 to 6 months.

In the U..S.: People are not commonly tested. Testing takes place usually only after classic symptoms arise; however, most adults do not present with the classic signs. The average time between onset of symptoms and diagnosis is 11 years, if at all.
